Yesterday at 10 a.m., following an urgent notice from the municipality of the city of Durrës, an extraordinary meeting of the municipal council had been scheduled to approve the lists and funds for social assistance for 2,515 families in the city of Durrës, or 8% of them, with an average of five people per family and an average age of six years. But, as the chairman of the Socialist councillors' group, Alqi Kadenasi, says, at 10 o'clock there was nobody in the Municipality building except the policeman, an administration employee and two painters who were repairing the hall. The reason was that when they were notified about the municipal council meeting, the new chairman of the Durrës DP, Mr. Ferdinand Xhaferri, who is also the director general of the railways, ordered the entire state administration to meet to analyze the bankrupt programmatic ideas of the party and state leader, Mr. Berisha. According to Mr. Kadenasi, postponing this meeting of the elected state body seriously risks leaving unpaid the 2,515 families who live solely on social assistance and economic aid. On Monday morning, the deputy chairman of the PSSH, Servet Pëllumbi, received the President of the Socialist Youth of Belgium, Ronald Gossiaux, who was concluding a ten-day visit to our country at the invitation of FRESSH.
