We underline P. Xanone’s factory, belonging to a young man who is mentally ill, who wanted to inject his delusions into the Albanian government press, has lately been producing a lot of rejects. RD, ready to seize on any signal against the opposition, wherever it may come from, exploited the voice of Xanone’s press to whip up a storm of slander against the Socialist Party and the newspaper “Koha Jonë”, claiming that they had used some Serbian funding—which is no small amount, but 10 or 20 million dollars. All the pages of this newspaper and of one or another of its sister publications, which wear the face of slander and psychological terror against people, made Xanone the hero of the day, thereby not only translating a lunatic’s ravings, but above all showing what dubious morality the government press carries into its fight against the political opponents of the party in power. In truth, last week’s tragic event overshadowed the effect of the Xanone “bomb”, although he has continued with his hallucinations. Yesterday, the RD newspaper and its slanderous sister publications had forgotten to pursue their favourite topic of so-called Serbian funding. This means they must have received some order not to discredit themselves further by exploiting the “products” of the Xanone “factory”, because nobody believes such amorphous reports anymore, the offspring of a childish imagination. RD is expected soon to give up the products served up by the “Paloka factory” as well.
