Azem Hajdari expelled from the PD Parliamentary Group

Tirana — The Presidium of the Democratic Party of Albania expels MP Azem Hajdari from its Parliamentary Group.
A meeting of the PD Presidium, announced two days earlier and chaired by Mr Tritan Shehu, issued the decision in response to the request submitted days earlier by the Presidium of the PD Parliamentary Group to expel MP Hajdari from the group. PD chairman Shehu needed very little time to turn the request into a decision, following which Hajdari, who “won” 82 percent of the votes in an electoral district in Bulqizë, is no longer a PD MP.
A month ago, it was the Democratic Party chairman himself, Tritan Shehu, who began the series of expulsions of Hajdari from the PD when he threw him out of the Democratic Party’s National Council, after he had earlier been dismissed from the post of chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Defence and SHIK. Hajdari’s expulsion from the PD follows the party’s expulsion of the “emotionalists” of August 1992, led by Pashko and Imami, the ten “extremists” Kalakula and Baleta, as well as chairman Eduard Selami. But it also completes the purge of all the founders of the Democratic Party.

“The state is responsible for the pyramid-scheme crisis that thousands of Albanian families are experiencing.
...Those responsible for this situation cannot hide their heads like ostriches by setting up ‘transparency commissions’ that are not even approved by PD’s own members of parliament and are, in reality, dealing with the biographies of the companies’ leaders.
The state must answer for the money of Albanians, which was earned through the toil and sweat of many years of work, both in the country and abroad.”
