Peaceful protest rallies
Today at 11:00 in Skanderbej Square and in the main squares throughout the country
The squares belong to the people, and no one has the right to stop the people from rising up to defend their own interests
The opposition parties, in accordance with the law on public gatherings, submitted a request to the Ministry of Public Order and the Tirana Police to protest in the central square of the capital at 11:00, but abusively the request was not taken into consideration. The Tirana Police, by absurd and unconstitutional means, are preventing the immediate public occupation, using as an argument, on the one hand, the fundamental human rights and freedoms of peaceful assembly.
The obstruction of gatherings and the placing of the current regime in a position even more anti-democratic than that of Belgrade, has not been accepted for two months and is blocking its own manifestations. Efforts to trample on rights, as written in the decision, on freedom and to seize the central square of the capital, the stronghold of the anti-Serb opposition’s resistance and victory. Set and with the people, we will no longer accept such blows and the demagoguery trumpeted at the meeting of the PD National Council.
