Bomb aimed at the President of the Republic

Yesterday in Shkallnur, in the city of Durrës, an attempt to assassinate President of the Republic Sali Berisha failed during an election rally.
The attacker threw a hand grenade toward the makeshift platform in the center of the village, where President Berisha was speaking. It did not explode and was deactivated by the special forces accompanying Berisha.
According to news agencies, the person who attempted to attack the Albanian president was shot by the presidential guards in an effort to neutralize him and was immediately taken to hospitals in the capital.
