The conference of donor countries for Albania will be held in Brussels on October 22. This was confirmed yesterday by Luxembourg’s Foreign Minister, Zhak Pos, the next President of the EU. “The Brussels meeting will be a step forward from the international ministerial conference in Rome,” Pos told reporters. “At this conference, reconstruction programs in support of Albania will be reviewed,” Zhak Pos said. The conference will be organized by the European Commission and the World Bank, following the model of three similar conferences organized in recent years for Bosnia-Herzegovina. Pos highlighted the visible progress “on the path to democratic normalization,” observed in Albania in recent weeks, and added that the EU supports the processes of rebuilding the police and army, initiated by the WEU and NATO, ATSH reports.
