Socialists determined to rebuild the capital, devastated by PD rule

At the invitation of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Albania, Sabit Brokaj, the Minister of National Defense of Greece, Akis Tsohatsopoulos, arrived in Tirana yesterday for a two-day visit to Albania. The high-level Greek military delegation, headed by the Greek Minister of National Defense, Mr. Tsohatsopoulos, and the Chief of Staff of the Land Forces, Lieutenant General Manousos Parajondakis, was received at Rinas Airport by the Minister of Defense, Sabit Brokaj, the Chief of the General Staff, Brigadier General Aleks Andoni, as well as senior officials of the Albanian Ministry of Defense and the Greek Embassy in Tirana. “An old Albanian saying goes, ‘Every bad thing has something good in it.’ The unavoidable misfortune that our country went through is now behind us. The good thing is that in these difficult times, the Albanian people came to know their true friends.” This is what the Albanian Minister of Defense, Sabit Brokaj, said yesterday in his greeting to the Greek military personnel deployed at military unit 33/80 in Tirana, in the presence of the high-level Akis Tsohatsopoulos. “Our people,” the minister revealed, “found us at this moment, when we are in difficulty.” (Continued on page 4)

As the Press and Information Office of the President of the Republic announced, yesterday President Meidani, accompanied by his wife, took part in a celebration for the orphaned children of the “Nene Tereza” children’s home in Elbasan. The “Nene Tereza” children’s home, funded entirely by the Rogner family, who also co-own the hotel of the same name in Tirana, was built this year and provides accommodation for 26 children aged seven and under.
