STATEMENT OF THE PSSH ON THE EVENTS IN KOSOVO

PSSH CONDEMNS THE BARBARIC ACT OF THE SERBIAN FORCES The Socialist Party of Albania expresses its deep concern over the tragic event in Skënderaj and the barbaric act carried out by Serbian military forces against the defenseless Albanian population living in this municipality. It considers these actions to be violations of fundamental human rights and freedoms, as well as a provocation against the Albanian Government’s sincere desire to create a new spirit of cooperation in the Balkans and integrate the region into European political currents. PSSH calls for these acts to cease immediately; they not only destabilize the region, but also give rise to positions that would not favor the necessary climate of integration, which the participants at the Crete Summit and in the declarations they signed committed themselves to fostering.
