Let us sacrifice power in order to create a state
The Prime Minister speaks at the government: the traditional abuse by Albania’s classes has put politics in deficit, in debt to the people, the nation and its own lands
For the past six years, while the entire civilized world shut off the arms taps for the Serbian war machine, Berisha’s Albania opened them simply to create a pseudo-nationalist caste that built personal luxury and collective impoverishment on Bosnian blood.
A question weighs finally upon us: How much longer will we put the interests of groups above those of the nation? How much longer will we sacrifice the interests of the state for those of the party? How much longer will we ignore political interests in favor of corrupt ones?
No personal, party-based, or structural rivalry within the government cabinet can or will be tolerated. All the limbs of government must move in a coordinated way, in the service of generating budget revenues and spending them transparently and under control.
I cannot ignore the fact that every action, effort and result of the current political class, of the government, and of all the parties that sustain it and aspire to it, today has a direct effect on the future of the nation as a whole.
