“Fiera di Levante”: The West builds a bridge to the Balkans With a brief visit to the Albanian capital, Italian Prime Minister Prodi will join his Albanian counterpart Nano as a protagonist of Wednesday, when at midday today in Tirana they will inaugurate the opening of Fiera del Levante, the largest fair ever organized in Albania. During his several-hour visit to Tirana, the Italian prime minister will hold separate meetings with the President of the Republic, Rexhep Meidani, and Prime Minister Fatos Nano, and will meet with Italian entrepreneurs who have invested and operate in Albania. This is the Italian prime minister’s third visit to our country since the unrest in the spring of last year. Italy is one of Albania’s main economic partners. It leads Operation “Alba”, undertaken by the international community to restore normality after last spring’s anarchist rebellion.
