According to him, the road where this “mistake” occurred is an important transit point “for supplying” Serbian forces in Kosovo. The pilot saw “villages burning near the places where he released the bomb, an area where ethnic cleansing is at a considerable level,” Shea added. A recording of the aircraft pilot’s voice, identifying him as responsible for the “incident”—his name and nationality have not been disclosed—was distributed during NATO’s press conference. In the recording, he says he spotted villages in flames while flying at an altitude of about 5,000 metres in an F-16. “I spotted something that looked to me like a convoy, moved north and saw a series of villages in flames,” he said. He then says he saw another “convoy of three vehicles that looked like armoured personnel carriers. He became convinced they were setting a house on fire. I dropped a laser-guided bomb on this convoy, then left the area because I was running low on fuel.” According to Italian General Giuseppe Marani, the Alliance’s military commander, “three vehicles had been hit.” PAGE 3

DURRËS—Around 25 thousand tons of aid in “Blue” vessels for the “Kosovo” emergency. According to incomplete records, since detailed information from the Italian Mission “Yiberi” is missing, around 25 thousand tons of aid entered through the seaport of Durrës during the period April 8–14, mainly food, clothing, medicines, structures and machinery for those who arrived from Kosovo.
