A 5-year-old child was killed by a smuggling gang that had previously burned the Qafë-Botë Customs House. They threatened the lives and entire families of customs officers and tax collectors, continuing with beatings and terrorization. According to the information available so far, the leader of this gang is said to be directly linked to officials of the PD branch in Kavajë. It remains for the institutions to examine this case carefully, since this is a serious state act. As party leaders, we strongly condemn this situation and are demanding full support from moral, police and justice institutions to find and punish the guilty. In such cases of the country, where “today” the efforts of civil noise must go to the utmost fight against all criminals and their reactions. “There is no price for a person’s faith,” said the calm and convinced voices of officials, heard constantly through radio and television “like fear.” Often from this truth, usually above all, traces of caution are spread, in relation to the tragedy of fire, explosion, rebellion and bravery. What is happening is a series of threats with moral consequences, mentioned as a means of intervention, making the dangerous package. Further, the gang leaders have been sent to the homes of customs officers and tax collectors, threatening them with death to their families and telling them not to show up again at their workplace. In the capital, it was reported that police representatives have been mobilized, while local law-enforcement leaders have received full orders to arrest the perpetrators. (to be continued on p. 6)
