Whoever runs away... The last two men killed in the struggle between police forces and armed groups in the mountainous areas of Albania are the Brahimi brothers from Fani i Mirditës and the former border officer from Kurbin, Flamur Kola. Yesterday in Tirana, the official ceremony was held for the farewell to the final resting place of the guard killed by criminal gangs, while in the north of the country police operations continue with intensity. The latest information from the central headquarters of the Ministry of Order and the Ministry of Order, immediately after the murderous act against the guard, show that in that same mountainous area of Kurbin a major police operation was carried out. The police again set out in search of the two fallen policemen, who according to initial data were believed to have been hiding for several days in the village of Mnelë [?], near the village of Perlat. The operation began around 4 in the morning, with the participation of special forces and the district police. The police had secured yesterday afternoon that the two people had started moving from the village toward the forest. One of them tried to break through the cordon, but was shot by police forces. The other was killed a little later. At the scene, the police found a submachine gun, ammunition and other personal belongings. According to preliminary data, one of the dead has been identified as Aqif Brahimi, while the other was Kadri Brahimi. Both were considered members of an armed group that had operated in that area for a long time and were accused of a series of robberies and murders. Official police sources say that operations will continue in the coming days and that the main objective remains the capture of other persons declared wanted. On the police list is also Islami [?], considered a very dangerous person. High-ranking state and police officials, as well as the victim's family, attended the funeral ceremony for the killed guard. Tributes were paid and a strengthening of order and public safety was called for.
