Police kill the man who killed six people
A hours-long standoff between police and two killers in Lezhë
• Francesk Gjini, the perpetrator of six murders, was shot dead by police on Sunday in connection with a series of killings, including a policeman and his father, a military officer, in whose home he had forced his way; Shkodër, Tirana, and RENEA joined the battle

TIRANA—A murderer much sought by police has been eliminated. The incident, which kept the city of Lezhë gripped by anxiety for several hours, took place on Sunday. A dead bandit, an army officer who was his victim, two police officers wounded, and the killing of the special unit’s dog are all the visible elements of the incident in question. Sources at the Lezhë Police Directorate said that it all began in the early hours of Sunday morning.
