A prostitute is discovered in Malësi e Madhe, or in the south of France, and immediately the opposition, the media and people in clubs beat the tom-toms: “This is the heart of prostitution!...” A kilo or five kilos of drugs are seized, or some Kurd at Rinas or Vlorë, and the noise erupts again: “This is the heart of drug and illegal migrant trafficking!...” We have become experts at organizing tenders: we start making noise about tenders before they are organized and the winners announced, because for this kind of noise we have even created a proverb: “Whoever organizes a tender is a thief!...” In short, we make noise about everything! All this noise is suffocating Albania and making us all poorer. A country moves forward through investment, and investment is carried out through tenders. We do not want tenders because we have turned them into a bogeyman. For ten years we have not said one good word about a state employee, and in this way we have dug our own grave! Now is the time to draw up an “anti-noise” strategy and turn our attention toward work. There is no reason to exaggerate things; we should speak realistically and with facts. We are no worse than all the other human societies that have been, or are, at our level.
