Because of the importance of these documents, which shed light on the history of Albanian-Yugoslav relations in the postwar years, we are publishing them in sequence. The document we publish today is a letter sent to Belgrade by the general secretary of the Communist Party of Albania. Enver Hoxha wrote this letter on Christmas Day 1945, and addressed it to the Chief of the Supreme Headquarters of Yugoslavia and Minister of Defense, Marshal Josip Broz Tito. In this letter he tells Tito that Albania’s relations with Yugoslavia must be strengthened at any cost and that the "problems" between Albania and Yugoslavia are many and important. He proposes to Tito that the Kosovo issue be solved at any cost, and signs as leader of the Communist Party of Albania and as leader of the Albanian state.
Per shkak të rëndësisë së këtyre dokumenteve, të cilat hedhin dritë mbi historinë e marrëdhënieve shqiptaro-jugosllave në vitet e pasluftës, po i botojmë ato në vazhdim. Dokumenti që po botojmë sot, është një letër, që Beogradit i dërgohet nga sekretari i përgjithshëm i P.K.SH. Këtë letër Enver Hoxha e shkruan në ditën e Krishtlindjeve të vitit 1945, dhe i drejtohet shefit të Shtabit Suprem të Jugosllavisë dhe Ministrit të Mbrojtjes, Marshallit Josip Broz Tito. Në këtë letër ai i shkruan Titos se raportet e Shqipërisë me Jugosllavinë duhet të forcohen me cdo kusht dhe se "probleme" ndërmjet Shqipërisë dhe Jugosllavisë janë te shumta e të rëndësishme. Ai i propozon Titos që problemi i Kosovës të zgjidhet me cdo kusht, nënshkruhet si udhëheqës i P.K.SH. dhe si udhëheqës i shtetit shqiptar.
A causa dell’importanza di questi documenti, che gettano luce sulla storia delle relazioni albanese-jugoslave nel dopoguerra, li pubblichiamo in sequenza. Il documento che pubblichiamo oggi è una lettera inviata a Belgrado dal segretario generale del Partito Comunista d’Albania. Enver Hoxha scrisse questa lettera il giorno di Natale del 1945 e la indirizzò al capo del Quartier Generale Supremo della Jugoslavia e ministro della Difesa, maresciallo Josip Broz Tito. In questa lettera scrive a Tito che i rapporti dell’Albania con la Jugoslavia devono essere rafforzati a ogni costo e che i "problemi" tra Albania e Jugoslavia sono molti e importanti. Propone a Tito che la questione del Kosovo venga risolta a ogni costo e firma come leader del Partito Comunista d’Albania e come capo dello Stato albanese.
