Yesterday, PRSH chairman Mr. Sabri Godo had a working breakfast at Hotel Rogner with the chairman of the National Alliance, Mr. Xhanfranko Fini, parliamentarian Tatarela and the head of the ANI Press Office.
During the meeting, they discussed opportunities for cooperation between PRSH and ANI, strengthening relations between the parties and increasing contacts between the two sides.
Mr. Godo gave an overview of the current political situation in Albania, explained relations between PR and PD during the governing coalition and the reasons for the coalition’s breakup, and spoke about the situation of PR, its organization, preparations for the election campaign and the efforts PR and LDSH are making to prevent the ret-[text continues outside the photograph]
Regarding the invitation, he expressed his willingness to strengthen relations between PR and AN and pledged concrete assistance to PR. Mr. Fini once again expressed his party’s view that a socialist victory in Albania would not be welcomed by the Pole of Freedom in Italy.
They also discussed Albanian emigrants in Italy, and on this occasion Mr. Fini reaffirmed that Albanian emigrants should be treated differently from others.
Later, at the request of Mr. Sabri Godo, Xhanfranko Fini received representatives of LDSH: Messrs. Hysen Selfo, current chairman of LDSH, Kurt Kola, Guri Durollari and Remzi Ndreu. The LDSH leaders informed their guest about the League’s program and its efforts-[text continues outside the photograph]

Shortened trials in the courts
Shortened trials are a new phenomenon in the work and activities of courts of first instance.
Their application began after the new Code of Criminal Procedure entered into force, and their number is increasing day by day.
At the Tirana District Court, it is reported that so far around 10 criminal cases have been tried using this new method, always at the request and with the consent of the defendants.
As legal specialists explain, shortened trials are convenient not only for judges, but also for the defendants themselves. These kinds of trials usually conclude within a single hearing, without the need for witnesses or other lengthy procedures. All of these are eliminated by the defendant’s admission of guilt and acceptance of the charge.
In other words, while this saves time for judges, prosecutors and lawyers, the benefit for the defendant is greater. The law provides for a reduction of one-third of the sentence for the guilty party in shortened trials.
Statement by the PRSH spokesperson
While reviewing the Albanian party and independent press, PRSH spokesperson Mr. Neritan Alibani observes that:
The visit to Albania by a high-level delegation of the National Alliance has prompted leaders of Albania’s left-wing political forces to attack Mr. Xhanfranko Fini, labeling him a neo-fascist. This epithet seems highly paradoxical, considering that the accusers, who refuse to be called neo-communists despite having militated for many years in the ranks of PPSH, accuse Mr. Fini of neo-fascism even though he was born 10 years after the fall of fascism in Italy.
It is regrettable that various journalists and independent circles are joining this chorus at a time when they themselves object to identifying today’s Albanian socialists as the communists of the past.
“Freedom and peace secure in a United Europe”
German Chancellor Helmut Kol expressed his support at the time for implementing German reunification on 3 October 1990.
In an interview with the magazine “Deutschland,” he speaks about his political and personal memories of that eventful period, the process of the West’s internal awakening, and the possibilities for political and European integration. As a committed European, he sees German and European unification as “an inner connection.” p. 6
I very much agree that Albania’s affairs should be resolved only by consensus among humanitarian and non-governmental associations and organizations.
Albania’s politicians would do best to pursue the policy of Great America, or, if they do not want to deal with Am-er-ica, let them act as peace mediators in Bosnia and the Middle East. They are well suited to this work.
The sun coming up does not mean that the weather will be good on the following days, so for good weather we must wait until April, slowly, slowly until May.
The best solution to the country’s problems is being offered by the constructive left-wing opposition, which is expected to be formed in the year 1988–1999.
The new school year is beginning with hands held high and pockets full. Tomorrow there will be a great frenzy in commemoration of September 27, the Day of the Figs. On this occasion, the Roe Deer will pay a speaking visit to the rabbits, who will be notified beforehand by the hedgehog with the nimble feet. The Bear will eat wild apples and will jump only when he hears the Drum. The Lion will leave on duty abroad in the jungle, since there is information that the Bat has no intention of returning to its own lands.
The Socialists’ return to power would be a catastrophe for Albania
