The march of the Socialists toward the levers of power knows no stop

Running the country only with Party members - A hallmark of communist and fascist parties Running the country only with Party members - A hallmark of communist and fascist parties The Socialist Party is proving incapable of drawing lessons even from the most basic issues. By moving every day toward the “purge” and the placement of its secretaries and trusted people in leading posts, the SP is following the same path as the PD when it took power and undoubtedly did so in exactly the same way. Governing the country only through the members of the ruling party is a hallmark of communist and fascist parties. The destructive consequences of such a direction are well known: gradual suppression of democracy until the triumph of authoritarianism. The flourishing of bureaucracy, corruption and nepotism, and the sidelining of real intellectual potential without which there can be no progress. The closed cycle created by governing through party members will inevitably nurture the evils mentioned above, day by day, little by little, without stopping. Is it possible that the current leaders of the SP do not see where they are heading? Marti Monopin[?] euphoria, or perhaps pressure from the base, may be pushing them toward losing their balance. Otherwise there is no way to explain the removal of the director of agriculture in Pukë, specialized for two years in Germany, to replace him with the district SP secretary. The education director of Pogradec was also replaced with the SP secretary for no reason. Likewise, the forestry director in Lushnjë, a forestry engineer by profession, was removed to be replaced by an animal husbandry technician, the district PSD chairman. In Korçë, the director specialized for two years at HDA was removed and replaced by the 59-year-old animal husbandry technician, chairman of the Agrarian Party. When governments change, sometimes diplomats and ambassadors are swapped around, but not to leave the former ambassador to Germany, a diplomat with long service and high-level training, without work. There are hundreds of examples. A hospital director or a school director is removed because he belongs to an opposing party or simply because he was appointed by the PD. These become especially harmful when the person in question happens to be a political persecuted person or a December student, who overthrew the dictatorship. This is a process underway, and it is not known what quota it will reach by the end of the year. We are not moving toward the “politicization of the administration,” nor toward the principle of meritocracy and national reconciliation. These are simply slogans used to do the opposite: to place party members everywhere, those who contributed to the campaigns, those who “suffered,” or even friends and relatives. The more they advance along this path, the more they believe the Socialists are strengthening the state[?]. In this way one destroys oneself from within. We strongly oppose this phenomenon not because we care about the fate of the SP, but because the country is being subjected to the same destructive damage from which it has suffered over the last 52 years.
