Ecological Commission: Ngjela prefers to resign
. Politics and Justice are finally parting ways in their efforts to offer an alternative guided by criteria of feasibility and guarantees for the civil fate of Albanians. “Union for Democracy” described the “Ngjela Report” as an “Apology for crime, a commission where criminals investigate the victims.” Political segments of the left called for “the [inbërjen?] of the reconciliation process,” while lawyer Ngjela himself is drawing up a plan for a possible resignation. Until yesterday, the investigative institution, under pressure from reality, had been inclined to become a reinforcement of the status quo of understanding and reconciliation between the parties. The Ngjela Commission’s message was restraint, regardless of genuine moral concerns and the materialistic sense of its mission. This mission proved precisely that it had attempted to turn itself into an “ecological commission.” The emphasis on ecology became another factor aggravating the conflict between the two opposing sides. Knowing that the ecological problem is very serious, and ultimately affects all Albanian society, Mr. Ngjela placed the ecological aspect at the center of the investigation. But the indignant lawyer has inadvertently forgotten that the PS and PDI have built an entire political industry without caring much about Albania’s political environment, even though their adventures have seriously put it at risk.
