Closed circle
By Aleksandër ÇAPRI
In most things we are living as in those terrible breakthroughs of railway tunnels. Miners crash through tunnels from both sides. One half is finished, and the breakthrough too, but us? We are building only one tunnel and walking in a film that does not illuminate the country. Without signals of light, without the minimum hope of meeting. When deformation begins on one side, so too the scattered signals bode ill. Such accidental warnings first appeared in the independent union and in the one of political persecuted people. Both groups had already suffered from division before. Instead of rising above themselves, they drew their swords. They should have solved their problems, first of all with tolerance, dialogue and cooperation. The opposite happened. Such also seems the disintegration in the Albanian human rights movement. The independent union is falling apart, as the news reports every day show. For the persecuted, the conflictual entry is coming. We need very few eyes to see that the Albanian family and coalition is heading toward division. In that way every political message of today is moving. There are times when in politics one must not tolerate and forgive. Without breath and without realism, in actions and operations, communications and decisions, the situation here has grown, a small and large alarm. Consequently, the vacant places, by irony of fate, are being filled by shameless and immoral forces, without integrity. However much the politicians become unyielding and more vocal. It has been proven, meanwhile, that punishment, just like closeness, performs the same mission. The first strikes hard, the second clarifies. With this aim, it should also happen with the head of the anti-communist cooperative. That is God’s right, but no one else has this right. As long as they also belong to political and state structures, through uncontrolled publication they do it to gain new political points. It is difficult to prove whether the traitor has become a traitor, or whether the one using him as a seasonal spoil is the one to blame. It is a vile and dangerous fashion of these days. To accuse in the name of truth, in the name of justice, is a civic duty. To slander in order to harm, to raise oneself above another’s misery, is moral and political irresponsibility. It is unforgivable to stir up hatred within your own camp, when the country needs more than ever peace, understanding and justice.
Anti-Albanianism or “the bad infinity”
Analysis by Shkëlqim BABIUSHI
Albanian society has been ruled by chaos. Many anti-Albanians have given Albanians unworthy gifts. It is not known from misfortunes. It is not known from Albanophobes. Ruled by chaos, Albanianism is almost unknown and is moving in the shadows. In this stretch of time, Albanians, tired and fragmented as they are, find it difficult to speak about themselves. There are many worries and troubles. Today’s time has brought more uncertainty. But also more need for clarity. In this situation, the appearance of anti-Albanianism is not only an ideological stance, but a way of behaving, a political and cultural practice. It appears as a vile discourse, as a tendency to diminish national values, to blur sacrifices and to despise its own history. The anti-Albanian of today is not necessarily an openly declared enemy. He may also be among us, speaking Albanian, presenting himself as modern, rational and European, but essentially denying his own spiritual roots. This is “the bad infinity”: a denial that creates nothing, that only destroys, belittles and leaves emptiness. If this spirit triumphs, the nation loses self-confidence, culture loses stability, politics loses dignity. Therefore, opposing anti-Albanianism is both a civic duty and a moral necessity.
