In the dark villages of the government, because the Albanian people are being stripped by the state people of the right to a referendum on the cardinal issue of democracy through voting. The structuralization of the government, especially in the circulation of the media, is making Albanians more sensitive to the regime. Thus, when we place ourselves as beings in the rule of law, we must understand where we are and what is happening to our country. On the path of civil rights and institutions, we have been deprived of the most fundamental rights.
Why? Because free expression and pluralism, once achieved with great sacrifices, are now fading. In short, the Albanian citizen feels like a stranger in his own country. There is a tendency to limit thought, to stifle debate, to replace law with order and institutions with clientele. This situation makes it impossible for society to breathe freely.
In these conditions, the question arises whether we are moving toward civilization or toward a new form of submission. When the right to speak is violated, the right of the person is also undermined. When the opposition is obstructed, pluralism itself is damaged. When power is used to silence others, the foundation of the democratic state is struck. Albania cannot move forward without respecting dissent and without creating real spaces for civic participation.
Today, more than ever, we must remember that democracy belongs to no one. It is a system kept alive by the competition of ideas, by press freedom, and by oversight of power. A country that denies these principles risks turning back. Therefore, the protection of fundamental rights and freedoms remains the first condition for an open and European society.
