The whereabouts of the file concerning the head of the Albanian executive, Ilir Meta, are once again a mystery. The investigation into this much-discussed file began recently at the Tirana Prosecution Service, while the file, as the law also stipulates, was submitted to the General Prosecutor’s Office for “study.” Although many months have passed, there is no longer any “word” about this file. Both the Central Prosecution Office and the Tirana Prosecution Service give an answer that is “neither one thing nor the other.” Asked about the issue, the head of the Albanian prosecution service, Arben Rakipi, says the “Meta” file should be at the Tirana Prosecution Service.
