For 12 Albanian citizens who presented themselves at the counter at the border crossing point in Kakavija, and came out could be visaed at the border and detained, Sunday was as if the visa regime had been introduced at the top of the cold. Citizens from the city, M[?]SH, were issued a 6-month tourist visa, forced to turn back, after the Greek police proved that their passports were not valid. They waited for hours near the border point, while the police did not allow the journey to continue to Ioannina, most of whom were preparing for Ioannina. Many of them are following the preparation of a series of events that happened in the early hours of the morning. A large group of them had arrived from different cities in the country, carrying their documents and hoping that they would enter Greece.

The Albanian authorities of the Gjirokastër district, asked yesterday by “Republika”, gave no explanation as to why at the Kakavija counters on Sunday evening tourist visas began to be issued for 12 Albanians and, for 11 of them, after the 9th, sending them back even before expiry. While no problems have been recorded at other border points in Albania regarding the entry of Albanians, an unusual situation has been created at Kakavija. The Albanian authorities declared that the matter would be clarified, while the Greek side has still made no official announcement.
