It is not simply a result. It is a victory, a victory on a grand scale. God was with Us. There, together, in the stadium. As if to bless us, as if to show our strength. Yesterday, hundreds of red-and-black flags waved vigorously; tens of thousands of ... chests resounded powerfully: Albania, Albania! During the election campaign that has just ended, Albanians, those crazy fans of politics, held flags of different colors in their hands and cheered different names of par-

Page 5 Albania, Albania! parties. And in this fierce political confrontation, there were also violent and ugly acts. But one football match was enough for Albanians to unite under one name, under one flag. And how could it have been otherwise? On that green field, Albania was “fighting”—11 boys carrying the Homeland on their backs, all their love for it, their love, our love, love ... Car horns blared loudly in celebration of the victory. Young people, some of whom may not yet have learned the National Anthem, did not stop kissing the flag. Perhaps they had not stopped thinking, even for a moment, about leaving Albania, but last night they were happy to be there, in that square, in the center of Tirana, kneeling before the flag... crying. And Albania achieved a great victory, which began on the green field, swept through streets and squares, and embraced all Albanians wherever they are. Yesterday we all won, as we have always won... “United around the flag...” ener, one of the flags. And it could not have happened their love, our love, the love of millions of Albanians. They carried on their backs the pain, the suffering, the faces of our emigrants. And they won for them, too. Last night Tirana did not sleep.
