There are 6 Moroccans among the “tourists”, on the deserted beach of Puli
From our correspondent in Vlorë, Lekë Pervizi
A large group of people, gathered along a strip of bare land beside a watercraft, drew the attention yesterday of the residents of the Puli area near Vlorë. According to local sources, the people present were waiting to board an Italian-flagged speedboat that had approached the shore.
Among them, six Moroccan nationals were also identified, which increased suspicions that this was an illegal operation to leave for Italy. Witnesses said the speedboat had remained briefly in open water and then approached to pick up several people, but intervention by the authorities or sudden movements on the shore prevented the boarding from being fully carried out.
The Puli area is known as an isolated place suitable for covert movements, which, according to residents, has often made it a target for attempts at clandestine crossing. Other sources report that some of the assembled people presented themselves as tourists, while others avoided any contact with locals.
The incident has raised new concerns about coastal control and about the networks that organize illegal crossings using fast sea vessels. Local authorities are verifying the identities of the people involved and the ownership of the watercraft.

Kalavru, Albanians returning from Greece
GJAD OLLINGO
At a special session held in Brussels to include Albania in the Council of Europe, the Albanian prime minister, Aleksandër Meksi, stated that the issue of the Greek minority in Albania is being handled in accordance with European norms. He said that his government is committed to fulfilling all obligations arising from respect for human rights and minorities. Referring to relations with Greece, Meksi underscored the need for a new dialogue based on mutual respect and non-interference in internal affairs.
According to him, Albanian emigration to Greece should not be used as a tool of political pressure and the return of emigrants should be carried out humanely, without violence and without violating their dignity. The prime minister stressed that Albania is ready to cooperate with European institutions to guarantee democratic standards and the protection of fundamental freedoms.
He added that any tension between the two countries harms the overall climate in the region and hinders the process of European integration. In this context, he asked the Greek side to avoid threatening language and help create a new atmosphere of understanding.

A former officer reveals the secret
BËMO LACI
In a dramatic situation from recent years, a former Albanian officer has stated that he knows the place where an Italian soldier killed during the war is buried. According to his testimony, it is a serviceman buried without an identifying marker in a remote area, and he is ready to help the authorities or the family in finding the remains.
The former officer said that for many years he kept this information secret, out of fear of political consequences and the circumstances of the time. Now, driven by humanitarian feelings, he is asking that the case be treated seriously and that the necessary searches be carried out.
According to him, identifying the location could help not only the victim’s family, but also serve as an act of reconciliation and historical memory between Albanians and Italians. He added that he is ready to provide further details about the people who know about the event and the circumstances of the burial.
His appeal is directed to the Albanian and Italian institutions, as well as humanitarian organizations, to cooperate in clarifying the matter.

Albanians were stopped aboard two Italian boats that were sinking
From our correspondent
S. MANA LICA
A group of Albanians was rescued at sea after the small vessel they were traveling on risked sinking. According to the first information, there were 17 refugees on board two Italian boats in a severe technical condition.
The rescue operation was carried out in time by the coastal forces, which managed to bring all the people ashore without loss of life. Testimonies show that the wind and strong waves had worsened the situation and that the vessels were taking on water.
The refugees said they had set out with the hope of reaching Italy, but without sufficient safety equipment and under very dangerous conditions. The authorities are investigating the circumstances of the journey’s organization and the possible responsible parties.
