The complaint filed by the parliamentary group of the Socialist Party, which requested that Nano’s detention in prison be annulled and that the Court’s decision be declared unconstitutional, was rejected yesterday by the Constitutional Court. The majority of constitutional judges examined the socialists’ lawsuit on its merits, disregarding their request for the temporary suspension of the detention measure. According to it, Nano’s arrest was carried out in accordance with procedure and does not violate constitutional rights. Yesterday’s decision by the Constitutional Court leaves in force the decision of the justice authorities to keep Nano in prison until the investigation is completed and the trial begins.
