Secret documents discovered

There are also materials signed by Hoxha A Greek journalist found the hidden place in the former Central Committee of the PPSH FATOS BAKAKU TIRANA- Cleared up and transformed into a school, the villa where Alia also had his residence still keeps its old name: “Lungarja”. Its large courtyard includes the garden and the flower beds, where the small bunkers can still be seen. But what could have remained from the headquarters of the nerve center of such a country? At least several hundred boxes of documents… Documents that have escaped destruction and perhaps even theft, and which, according to the testimony of the chairman of the parliamentary decommunization commission himself, Simon Mirakaj, “are very secret”. They are located in a mysterious place in one corner of the villa, known only to a few former high-ranking officials of the PPSH. The iron door of this place, which was discovered and photographed by the Greek journalist A. Mavrikios, has a short and clear history. It is located in the basement, and no one had noticed it because the old facade had covered it. A very small entrance, formerly used as a service exit, leads to narrow stairs. At the end, there is a heavy iron door with a special lock. Beyond it, according to the testimonies, are boxes, files and materials signed by Enver Hoxha. According to the Greek journalist, the entrance was discovered during a photographic report in the former central committee. There are classified materials from the Political Bureau, the Central Committee and the PPSH apparatus. Some of them have been damaged by dampness, but most are preserved. This has immediately raised strong suspicions about the way state archives were kept during these years of transition. Simon Mirakaj states that “there may be materials there that directly concern the main figures of the communist regime”. According to him, the decommunization commission must have immediate access to them. On the other hand, other officials believe that the documents should be transferred to the state archive and inventoried before any public use. The issue becomes even more sensitive because the villa was once one of the most guarded points of the system and because, according to former employees, important orders and materials personally signed by Hoxha passed through there. If these documents really exist, they could shed light on important political decisions and on the internal mechanism of the regime. A. Mavrikios also took the first photographs of the hidden entrance. The images show a dark corridor and old masonry, while the metal door appears almost untouched. His report is expected to trigger strong political reactions. Meanwhile, the relevant authorities have not yet issued a full statement on the contents of the archive and its security. Millions of lek lost in forest fires

In most cases, the fires were deliberate No. 19 alone in Albania there were 60 fire outbreaks that affected Drenë; the most serious were recorded in Vlora with 23 cases VLORA, from our correspondent- Hundreds of hectares of forest and pastureland have been engulfed by flames during the summer months. According to forest service sources, the damage amounts to millions of lek, while in most cases the fires are suspected to have been set deliberately in order to clear land, create grazing areas or gain illegal profit from timber. Only during this season, dozens of fire outbreaks have been recorded in different districts of the country. The most affected areas are Vlora, Tepelena, Lushnja and several mountainous regions in the south. The flames have burned considerable areas of pine, oak and scrubland, also damaging the local fauna. Local services often have not had the necessary equipment for rapid intervention. In many cases, residents themselves have joined in extinguishing the fires. It is suspected that some of the fires started near timber exploitation areas or on land later used for grazing. Experts warn that the damage is not only economic. The loss of forest mass increases the risk of erosion, flooding and soil degradation. According to them, stronger control, punishment of arsonists and investment in forest protection are needed. If the trend continues, recovering the burned areas will take years. Local authorities have called for vigilance, while a full national balance sheet on the damaged areas is also expected. The most serious damage was recorded in Vlora

The arrest was carried out on the basis of an international arrest warrant issued by the Albanian authorities, but the Italian court decided to temporarily release them. According to sources, Pojani is charged in connection with an घटना that occurred in Vlora, where the Kosovar emigrant Nexhat Milla was killed. The Albanian authorities had requested his extradition, but the procedures were complicated by the documentation and by his status in Italy. Meanwhile, another case related to documents has come before the Tirana Court. An Albanian clerk was mentioned in an extradition order, while the court also examined the case of passport theft. For the latter, sentences were handed down for the persons involved. The case has attracted interest because of the overlap of Albanian and Italian jurisdictions, as well as the implications related to migration and identity documents. Investigations continue.
