Sadi Taranti and Ilir Ahmeti face six years in prison each, while a five-year prison term was requested for Aldin Ahmeti. Under Article 20 of the Penal Code, the defendants will also lose the right to hold state office and the right to vote for five years. The case began at the end of last summer, when several families came to our country from Italy, having each paid 5,000 dollars to secure work and housing in Albania. According to the prosecution, they were deceived by the defendant Sadi Taranti, who promised them housing and work, while the payments ended up in his hands.
