In the documents secured in Rome, according to the prosecution, there is correspondence between the company “Levani & Co.” and Albanian offices. They state that the reinstatement of the activity for 5 years had been requested by the previous Albanian government, then led by Fatos Nano. These papers also mention the continuation of the works and the use of the existing structures. The prosecutors said the investigation has been expanded and the file is now richer in records, testimony, and banking data. They stressed that an important part of the material will be translated and compared with the documentation kept in Tirana. Sources close to the investigation said that several people have been questioned and that a possible link with intermediary networks is also being checked. According to the same sources, the authorities are checking contacts, border stamps, and the way the documents were obtained, while the possibility that the case may branch out into other cities is not excluded.
