Teachers' seminar ELBASAN - “Teachers, educate the educated children who have not been able to be registered in the warmth of family life.” Just a few days before the start of the new school year, the education leaders in Elbasan addressed calls to the teachers' councils of the city schools. HISTORY ELBASAN - “I do not want to boast of Hiqmet; from now on my name is Kristo.” The fashion of changing names seems to have taken on large proportions. Just on Friday, the Municipal Council of Elbasan examined forty such requests. Since that day, forty people from Elbasan have voluntarily given up the names with which their parents had baptized them. Now, in their documents, traditional Orthodox names are listed. Kristo, Vasil, Pashko... they are all new names. Everyone has justified themselves by saying that only in this way can they secure a place in Greece; with Muslim names, that would be a failed undertaking. To acknowledge coexistence, the opposite case has also not happened: two citizens have requested to keep... traditional Muslim names.
