Since '91, 320 tons blocked in the Greek port TIRANA- Another mysterious and equally inexplicable story has occurred with imported Chinese goods. The vehicles by which these goods entered Albania in 1991 had their license plates removed and the vehicles were dismantled. That was the version given by state offices for the 320-ton shipment of goods that has been stuck for four years in the Greek port of Thessaloniki. Transport to Albania has not been carried out on the grounds that the Albanian government does not pay the fee for keeping them on the quay. According to the contract signed for this cargo, the ordering and receiving party was the company 'Mekam'. The goods are accompanied by two invoices of 31.50 and 970 thousand dollars, while on the other page the company is noted as having bought the import with money borrowed from the state. It is found at the Prime Minister's Office together with a shipping note bearing the signature of Kastriot Islami. The Thessaloniki port customs document states that the goods entered the quay on 19 November 1991. After the Greek transport agency asked about storage and quay fees, the answer from the Albanian side was that the transport vehicles had broken down and the cargo could not be brought over. Later came another version according to which the vehicle that had carried out the transport had been rented. Year by year the storage fees have kept increasing and have become so high that it is now thought that $500,000 are needed to get the goods out. In the documents published on the inner pages, the company PASHA is also mentioned as the financier of the import. TIRANA- According to our editorial office [?] other documents speak of another line of invoicing and responsibilities linked to the import of Chinese goods. The matter continues to remain unclear and highly contradictory in the documentation.
