TIRANA - Later in the morning yesterday, the former judge in the passport case, Hysen Selimi, explained to readers of “Gazeta Shqiptare” the true meaning of his statement in the parliamentary session. According to him, “Since yesterday’s session in parliament, it has become clear that the procedural and professional responsibility for issuing such a sentence was mine alone and nobody else’s.” Below are some parts of the conversation with him.
Gazeta Shqiptare: What is the meaning of your statement yesterday before the deputies?
Hysen Selimi: Perhaps they should have understood me better. I did not say that anyone ordered me. I spoke about a working practice and about a certain climate that influenced decision-making.
Gazeta Shqiptare: Do you think the Nano case had political influence?
Hysen Selimi: I spoke only about the way the procedures were carried out and not about specific names. I think there is room for further clarification.
