Battle in the unauthorized city: 25 police officers injured

TIRANË / Explosion of violence after the intervention of the forces that were supposed to enforce the authorities' demolition order Battle in the unauthorized city: 25 police officers injured Clashes between newcomers and the police; barricades on the national road Moldavia beaten 3-2; Albania's first triumph; it is a field National team, the historic victory TIRANË - The battle began around seven in the morning and lasted for several hours. Armed with shovels, stones and whatever came to hand, around 300 residents of Bathore, prevented yesterday by the police from demolishing some of the illegal houses with their own hands, attacked the law-enforcement forces. At least 25 police officers and about twice as many residents were injured in the clash, while the national road that passes there was blocked for two and a half hours. According to official sources, the police had gone to the area to enforce a prefect's decision ordering the demolition of 200 houses built without a permit on the land of the former cooperative. The residents, mostly from the north, had built barricades with stones and beams and had warned that they would not allow anyone to destroy the houses. The confrontation became inevitable. At its height, the police used rubber batons and tear gas, while the crowd responded with stones. After several hours, the situation was brought partially under control, but tension remained high throughout the day. Reportage

Armand Mero on page 5 Armand Mero on page 5 TIRANË - There are buyers in Kosovo in Tirana and in the area of the casinos where the difference in clothing is appreciated. It has not lost its shine, the pronunciation, the expression of desire. One has paid not only the sum, but also to break into a world. You cannot become completely victorious without entering that circle. Thousands of doubts and questions awaken along the way. There is turmoil, but also calm. Others see them as part of a modern tyranny, others as a symbol of a time that is changing rapidly. It has been difficult to avoid the temptation to enter this world where clothing, behavior and money speak before words. (photo R. Hyseni)

From London to Tirana by bicycle

Two English elderly men TIRANË - Young not in age, but in spirit. This can be said of the two elderly Englishmen who have covered the route from London to Tirana by bicycle. Their journey, which began several weeks ago, has drawn attention for the perseverance and curiosity that pushed them to visit Albania. They say the road was tiring but beautiful, and that the hospitality they found along the way rewarded their effort. Their arrival in the capital has been received with sympathy by passersby and casual acquaintances.

They survived together in the hell of Spaç: after 20 years he meets him and kills him for money

Elbasan Trial begins, life imprisonment sought They survived together in the hell of Spaç: after 20 years he meets him and kills him for money TIRANË - Was excellence being met with money? Money as a cause? People collide and are shaken by even the most unbelievable things. Such is the Spaç case. One of the 4 old friends, who had at the same time gone through the hell of the political prison, was killed in Tirana for low material motives. The victim, who after leaving the camps had begun a quiet life, was found lifeless near his home. Suspicion fell on a former companion with whom he had shared years of internment and suffering. After 20 years, they met again, but not to remember the past, but for a fatal confrontation in which money seems to have been the main driving force. In court, the prosecution requested life imprisonment for the defendant, while the defense tried to cast doubt on the motive and the evidence. The trial is being followed with interest, as the event has struck public opinion because of the stark contrast between the shared past and today’s crime.

Critics raise questions about the terms of the sale and its long-term impact, while the government insists that this is a necessary step for modernizing the sector.
