TIRANA - The majority’s proposal for the new election draft, which provides for the formation of counting commissions by members elected by the political forces taking part in the elections, has met with strong opposition from the opposition. The PD has abandoned the previous version of the changes to the new election bill, apparently after consulting specialists in the field. The majority’s new proposal has been changed in favor of the participating parties, because they will have their own representatives on the commissions. Under the new formula, parties or coalitions will have one member each in the polling commissions. “If we go back to the coefficient formula, we will once again enter a system that is not the same as the proportional system,” said a PD representative.
