Politicians mask their wealth
Before the elections, from all parties, a rush toward notaries and mortgage offices Politicians mask their wealth Property worth millions in the names of spouses Plots of land, cars, villas, business companies that have now been "hidden" by changing owners. Fear, uncertainty, or has everything been secured through honest means? TIRANE - Politicians mask their wealth. Land, cars, shops and commercial firms have changed owners just a few days ago. They have been transferred into the names of their close relatives, wives, children or brothers. The rush to notaries and mortgage offices began a few weeks before the elections: fear, uncertainty, or has everything not been secured through honest means? No one knows how to explain why the long lists include names from all parties. However, one thing is certain: our politicians know very well, with teeth and claws, that they want to have transferred the "millions" they have now "given" to their wives and husbands. Politics the biggest business? TIRANE - Politics the most profitable business, or are Albanian politicians businessmen? It seems that neither of the two theses can be ruled out. The people who often speak loudly from the podiums, make promises and ask for votes, in the name of our welfare, of all of us, seem to think more about themselves. On page 3
