D[?] ceremony of the international literature prize TIRANË - 65 years old? and a distinguished modern? of world literature, Ernesto Sabato, receives today in Tiranë the “Kadare” prize created by the publishing house “Onufri”. He, who is considered one of the most influential modernists and one of the most disturbing minds of the 20th century, was born in Argentina. Sabato began his activity as a physicist and mathematician. In 1945 he devoted himself to literature. His best-known works are the novels “The Tunnel”, “On Heroes and Tombs” as well as “Abaddon, the Angel of Darkness”, and many essays devoted to the problems of literature and the modern world. For the first time the “Kadare” prize, which bears the name of the well-known Albanian novelist Ismail Kadare, is awarded to a foreign writer.
