These are the first two conclusions of the latest report by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), “Albania Human Development Report 1996,” which was launched yesterday in Tirana. This is the main conclusion of the analysis of living conditions and human development in the country by this international office. The report notes that the poverty coefficient in urban areas reaches 18 percent, while in rural areas it reaches 34 percent.
