Yesterday more than 500 thousand dollars withdrawn from the firm "Sudja" triggered new demonstrations in the morning in front of the Tirana prefecture. A woman lost her life in still unclear circumstances, while the protest grew more heated. Protesters demanded intervention by the authorities and the return of the lost money. The situation escalated with clashes with the police and the blocking of the main roads of the capital.
At 24.00 it is suggested that people should appear at Police Station No. 2 to file a complaint. At the station and in the field they are waiting for money, if the report includes an arrest warrant and detention order? Hundreds hope that Gjallëca, close to PD, delays and acts wisely, to ease the burden.
Anxiety also at Gjallëca, panic with hope only for 6 February. Hope only in 6 February. A woman died in front of PD for a 70-year-old woman. Far from the company of hoped-for profits, in the city of the police. In the police station that was blocked, for several more minutes the situation was noted. The situation remained tense.
What nonsense? "Albanians have a simple destiny." It is the scene of a woman’s lament in front of the police station. Another one wears a headscarf and repeats that there is nothing left. At the police station, it seems hundreds of complaints were received. Does only this mutro of PD announce it? "Far from the company."
Two female protesters confronted with the police. Sitting in the road, they blocked the highway for many minutes. Many people were left in tears
The tragedy of usury: the state cannot wash its hands
Yesterday in Tirana hundreds of angry citizens protested again after payments were suspended by the firm "Sudja". The protest began in front of the prefecture and then moved toward the police station. In the angry crowd there was also the death of a woman, who was pushed and lost consciousness. Different witnesses gave different versions of the circumstances of the event.
The police authorities tried to calm the situation, while in the premises of the police station hundreds of complaints were filed. Meanwhile, many citizens declared that they would continue the protests until they received an answer about the lost savings.

TRANE [?] "The order of appointment excluded by the prosecution has no basis in law". This was stated yesterday in an interview for "Gazeta Shqiptare" by the former head of the Tirana police station, Rami H. He says that the powers of the ministry have been misinterpreted and that the dismissal decision is unfair. He further adds that he will follow the legal route to defend his rights. (Page 9)
"Pyramid schemes at Sudja: it is not known with the others"
Tirana, anti-usury commission uncovers the scheme
TIANAN [?] "These are the main complaints against what is now called the usury firm. If citizens have lost their savings, the entire money-circulation scheme must be investigated". This is, in summary, what members of the anti-usury commission stated yesterday regarding the "Sudja" case. According to them, the way it operates clearly shows elements of a pyramid scheme, but it cannot be ruled out that similar practices exist in other entities as well. (Page 10)
The outbreak of Albanian usury: TVSH breaks the silence
Only yesterday did television remember what is happening
TIRANA - Sudja is still at the center of an outburst of accusations and counter-accusations over the pyramid companies and the role of state institutions. For the first time after many days, Albanian Television paid attention to the situation that had been created, broadcasting reports and official statements. Meanwhile, part of public opinion described this response as late. The report stressed that the entire activity of the entities collecting money from citizens should be investigated. (Page 2)
