Nënaiti speaks: “This is who I am”
"Telat nënvë me: the wanted man from Tirana. “That’s how I want to live now”
“I don’t want hostility with the state; I’ve helped it”
Kulla: “I want to live a normal life like everyone else. The story of a thousand people was decided by itself”
TIRANA - Still somewhat, more than mobilized to be drawn into the general offensive of Tirana’s police, but knowing in detail the names of many of the protagonists of these days’ unrest, Nënaiti said it himself. He had never been calm, as the article itself writes, and he did not like being called by Tirana’s nickname. Whenever he heard the name, he felt it as a burden. According to him, everything had started from a small act of revenge by the inhabitants of Tirana’s neighborhood. “Why should the one who started first be the strongest? Why should people be taken by force?” he asks. “I have done nothing bad to the state. On the contrary, I have helped the police, especially in recent months. Many of those who are now called troublesome people, I knew and reported.”
He speaks in calm but determined tones, while admitting that some of his men were armed. “But who wasn’t then?” he says. “We were in a time when every house was guarded with a Kalashnikov.” Nënaiti recounts that for weeks he moved at night and hid during the day, not to avoid the police, but to avoid becoming a victim of feuds. “I am not afraid of the state. I am afraid of injustice.”
He insists that he wants a peaceful and normal life. “I don’t want to be a symbol of anything anymore. I want to work, raise my children, be like everyone else.” In the end, he says that if he had the chance he would appear before the authorities himself, if there were guarantees of a fair trial.

Return of refugees: Rome had warned Berisha; Nano: “He made a secret agreement”
Foreign minister Milo reacts: “Prodi should move to another situation”
TIRANA - It is not clear whether the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has received the same matter, or what strategy the Italian government followed on this issue. The ministry spokesman, according to a public statement, rejects the interpretation that the Italian government intended to deport Albanian refugees. On the contrary, according to him, this is a controlled repatriation process, with respect for international procedures.
In its reaction, Albanian diplomacy has called for full transparency regarding the agreements and contacts carried out, while suggesting that any unilateral move would damage relations between the two countries. The debate was sparked by statements by Sali Berisha, who accuses Fatos Nano of a secret agreement with the Italian government.
