TIRANË - Gangs are operating on both sides of the Albanian-Yugoslav border, carrying out clandestine trafficking, while the authorities of both states have still not established order. Three groups of armed Albanians faced one another at the border 20 km northeast of Kukës. At the end of the confrontation, one of them was killed and another wounded. The shooting began on Tuesday evening, around 7:30 p.m., at the place called Qafa e Vogël, near Gorozhup. According to sources from the Kukës police, one person crossed to the other side of the border and was then killed there by masked men. The police learned of the incident from local residents, who saw the victim lying dead on Yugoslav soil. The wounded person, according to the police, arrived at the Kukës hospital. The identity of the victim is still unknown, while the wounded man has been kept under care. According to border sources, the situation in the area remains tense. Serbian helicopters have patrolled along the border line.
