The two Albanian pilots on their return, arrived in Italy
By ?AN - We were asked to remain on standby to strike at dawn as well. On the radio we heard that Petriti’s agent asked me to fly alone and carry out burst fire. On 5 March the planes took off again. It was clear that the orders came from above. They ordered me to bomb the South. At the base, the mechanics told us that the ammunition had been replenished. I took the “Mig-15” aircraft up and headed out. Petriti communicated to me over the radio to show toward civilians. At that moment I thought we were being used against the people. I had received orders to strike one by one and not with bursts. That was against every norm. Then I decided not to blindly follow the command. The plane turned back and we arrived in Italy.

Kadare’s appeal: Lead the Reconciliation
A gathering of Albanian intellectuals at the end of the year
The President’s idea offers the Academy the organization of a great national assembly
TIRANA - In both form and substance, the appeal by distinguished intellectuals addressed to the President will have major consequences. Writer Ismail Kadare and well-known politicians have appealed to the President to undertake a national reconciliation initiative. The letter says that the country’s situation calls for a moral unification of Albanians and the avoidance of civil clashes. The proposed gathering will bring together figures from culture, science, and politics. In this regard, this initiative could serve as a moral instrument for calming passions and avoiding an escalation of the conflict. At the end, the President is called upon to accept the role of arbiter of reconciliation. On page 4.
