TIRANA - Voting ended yesterday with low turnout. Preliminary data show that the Socialist Party won in most of the areas where the supplementary local elections were held, while the Democratic Party won only in Kavaja. At the PS headquarters, celebrations began immediately after the ballot boxes were closed, where it was announced that the socialists took 4 municipalities and 6 communes.
On the other hand, PD representatives said the result would lead to a change in tactics. Voter turnout is estimated at a record low, around 60 percent.
