Since yesterday the power cuts have begun. Supply is guaranteed only for hospitals and the refugees of Tropojë
YESTERDAY at around 14:15, one of the two transformers in working condition at the substation of the Fierzë hydropower plant caught fire, causing a serious fault in the electricity supply for the entire country. According to official sources, the transformer caught fire after a technical failure, while firefighters and KESH specialists intervened immediately to limit the consequences. The authorities stated that only two transformers were operating, while the other two were out of service due to lack of maintenance and wear.
In a special press statement, KESH leaders declared that the country will face severe electricity restrictions for at least one month. Supply will be guaranteed mainly for hospitals, vital facilities and the refugee camps of Tropojë. Long interruption schedules will apply to citizens and businesses. Specialists warn that the damage is extensive and that replacing or repairing the burned transformer will take time.
Meanwhile, in several cities the first power cuts began yesterday, causing difficulties in water supply and economic activity. The event has triggered strong political reactions and accusations of negligence in the management of the energy system.

The trace of Ali Pashë Tepelena’s treasure returns
The gold fever is once again enticing Albanians
TIRANA- An expedition that has been working for about a week to uncover the treasure of Ali Pashë Tepelena in the area of the village of Shënvasil on the coast of Himarë is keeping the residents of this coastal area in anxious suspense. A group of searchers from Corfu appear to be conducting serious investigations using modern equipment. These are searches organized in complete secrecy and under the supervision of numerous police forces. The headman of Shënvasil village has stated that he and many other residents learned about this expedition through the law-enforcement authorities. Despite the secrecy, it is understood that with the permission of the Ministry of Culture, two foreigners have also arrived with experts and installed special equipment on the village hill to detect the places where the famous gold may be hidden. According to information coming from the villagers, the expedition began its search at the place called “Qafa e Botës”. So far, it is said that other fairly large areas have also been checked, but without success. The searchers have not ruled out the possibility that the treasure may also be hidden in other parts of the Himarë coast. In the area, residents continue to faithfully preserve the legends about Ali Pasha’s treasure, which is believed to have been hidden by his troops during the retreat.

The "magic" of immunity
AUDI TELA
In the current battle over immunity, greater clarity is needed. Under no circumstances should this constitutional institution be allowed to serve as a shield for political or criminal abuses. What is happening with the prosecutors’ requests and parliament’s reactions has highlighted a sharp clash between the law and the interests of the day. Immunity cannot be a privilege of the powerful minority, but rather a guarantee of the free exercise of the mandate. If it is misused, public trust in the state and justice is undermined.
