If the shortcomings of this law were to be corrected according to Pollo, the possibility of wiretapping deputies and senior officials should be excluded. “This is because such a thing is very compromising and can be used for different purposes and not always lawful ones. It is very important that the limits and duties of SHIK be clear,” Pollo added. Regarding the fact that this law was approved despite criticism from the opposition, the deputy speaker of parliament described it as a “stubbornness” on the part of the majority. According to him, the approval of the law on SHIK may also have been motivated by the situation of the moment, but he still remains of the opinion that many opposition suggestions were ignored. “I also think that this institution should not be placed under the leadership of the Prime Minister, because that would create a clash of competencies with the President of the Republic.
