KOSOVO WITH TWO POLICIES
HELL
Yesterday, while Rugova was declaring that dialogue with Belgrade remained indispensable for resolving the Serbian crisis, special units of the Yugoslav army were shelling the village of Padesh in Tropoja with heavy artillery. The leader of the LPK was calling on all Albanians, saying that the only war for the liberation of Kosovo is armed struggle. These developments of yesterday show the existence of two policies for resolving the Kosovo issue. One is dialogue with the Serbs and the other is armed struggle. The first is embraced by Rugova and other Kosovar politicians, who, according to the assessment of the liberation movement, have shown that the Serbs are only interested in creating the impression for the world that there are also Kosovo Albanians who seek a peaceful solution to the problem. Representatives of the liberation war believe this is part of the Serbian strategy, which seeks at all costs to avoid the use of force by strongly promoting dialogue and a peaceful solution. The second is armed struggle, which has so far produced the most tangible results on the ground. Active resistance by Albanians against the occupiers has become a reality. Many strikes against the Serbian forces have been carried out. Kosovo has been placed at the center of international attention. The possibility of NATO military intervention has increased. The UCK has increased its combat capabilities and maneuverability. The hope for victory has grown. However, those policies and attitudes that, by flattering dialogue, damage the war and keep it divided must be kept under control. The issue of the day for Kosovo today is unity around the war. Albanians must return only to this path.
UCK chooses Demçi; the opposition abandons Rugova’s delegation
PRISHTINA - Yesterday it was announced that at a meeting of its Presidency, the LPK decided to appoint its own representatives to the negotiation delegation and will seek the replacement of Rexhep Qosja and Fehmi Agani with its chairman Adem Demaci. Kosovo’s political community has undergone changes in its representation for negotiations. If until yesterday the negotiation delegation consisted of Ibrahim Rugova, Rexhep Qosja, Adem Demaci and Fehmi Agani, today this composition has changed. LDK and UCK are not managing to unite their positions on dialogue with the Serbs. Instead of Demaci, Ibrahim Rugova had decided that Bujar Bukoshi should enter the negotiation delegation. After LPK’s opposition, the delegation did not meet yesterday. LPK declared that dialogue is useless and insisted that Adem Demaci represent it in the talks.
