Godo slams the door on Berisha

PR leader: I do not want to make an alliance with him Lideri i PR: Nuk dua të bëj aleancë me të Godo slams the door on Berisha TIRANA - It was meant to be a clarifying meeting between senior representatives of the two right-wing parties, but what was supposed to be a “union” seems to be turning into quite the opposite. Yesterday's meeting between Republican Party chairman Sabri Godo and DP leader Sali Berisha ended without any visible result. On the contrary, the subsequent statements made it clear that there are more divergences than convergence between them. In statements to the press, Godo said that the PR does not want to enter into an alliance with Berisha and that the Republicans will continue to pursue their own political line. Berisha, for his part, implied that the door remains open, but did not hide his dissatisfaction with this refusal. Yesterday's meeting, which had been presented as an opportunity to bring the two opposition forces closer, ended without an agreement. On page 3 From P.P-D. INTERVIEW

Doke: State of emergency across the entire border Appropriate responses should still be distributed to other cities TIRANA - The latest tensions and threats of military "revenge," as well as the emergency on the northern border, have also overshadowed the usual concerns of recent days in the country. The problematic situation is focused on our country's border. It is understood that the government has also moved, taking measures to ensure a concentration of police and military forces along the entire border line with Kosovo. It was precisely these actions and reactions that prompted the Minister of Defense, Sabit Brokaj, to give a press statement and answer the questions of "Gazeta Shqiptare" regarding the current situation. The minister stressed that, so far, there is nothing alarming, but measures are being taken for every eventuality. He also underlined that it has been requested that law enforcement forces be moved from one point to another, but that it is necessary for the army to be ready. Asked whether the UN Security Council decision would turn into a NATO operation, the minister stated that this move does not depend only on us, but that the decision to be undertaken by the Alliance together with partners must be awaited. In response to "Gazeta Shqiptare," the minister also clarified that additional security measures would be taken in some cities of the country and that increased vigilance is needed. On page 2

The Serbs are playing with NATO

Gjuhëshi: They are provoking TIRANA - The secretary general of the PPD, Abaz Hado, declared yesterday that the latest talks between Albanian forces in Kosovo and the international factor are facing provocations from the Serbian side. According to him, these actions aim to push toward a stronger military clash in the region and to test NATO's patience. He said that the situation in Kosovo remains tense and that any reckless step by Belgrade could bring serious consequences. He also called for more international pressure on the Serbian regime. Our prisons are inhuman

INTERVIEW / DIRECTOR OF PRISONS LETTER ABOUT CORRUPTION AND MISTREATMENT Our prisons are inhuman "I always the death sentenced" Qyra for the fiscal sentence. Energy films grow worse TIRANA - Conditions in Albanian prisons are at terrible levels; even released persons still refer to them as such. General Director Shemsi Prençi stated yesterday that in the places where detainees are held, they are treated beyond what is human. From there he has also written to the highest state leaders about abuses against prisoners. For the first time, Prençi publicly said that in the institutions he directs there is corruption, violence and even serious legal violations. He has requested immediate reform of the system. The tax authorities steal 800 million from KESH

Investments are hindered. The corporation is blocked TIRANA - Amid a large amount of overdue financial obligations, KESH seems to be facing another burden as well. According to the corporation's leaders, the tax administration has blocked around 800 million lek, creating serious obstacles for investment and the normal functioning of the enterprise. Sources state that this measure was taken at a critical moment, when the energy system needs immediate financing for the network and supply. On page 9 View of electrical equipment in a plant

"America, O my mother"

"AMERICA, O MY MOTHER" It seems that the Albanian leader-secretary, despite the problems of Kosovo, has his message clear this time. He has clearly declared that Albanians should not tire themselves hoping for a war, but should prepare for self-defense and for a political solution. In this sense, his expressions may have been clearer than what should be done. However, what stands out is the way some interpret this call, turning it into a political emotion more than a program of action. In fact, relations with the West, with the USA and with other international factors have also entered a delicate phase. Therefore every word and every declaration is measured carefully. But if we leave rhetoric aside, the fundamental question remains: is there a clear strategy to deal with future developments? Or do we still live among emotions and slogans? On page 5
