"We are waiting for Nano’s tanks"
Berisha’s ultimatum to the Prime Minister: You have 6 days
The anti-government actions of the Democratic Party will continue until 15 September. The final aim of the protests is the overthrow of the government. After threatening protests from 1 September, the democrats are now threatening to paralyze traffic and block the national roads. "Fire for fire, dynamite for dynamite." This is the answer they give to Prime Minister Nano’s ultimatums and those of his government. According to this political force, last September’s unrest cannot be compared with what is expected to happen in the coming days. Through the protests the opposition aims to achieve three goals: the removal of the Nano government, the dissolution of the People’s Assembly, and the administration of the country by the President of the Republic until the political crisis is resolved. Yesterday the leadership of the PD Parliamentary Group decided that on 15 September a major protest will be held in Tirana. The escalation of actions against the government will begin 6 days earlier. On 8 and 9 September, the PD will organize protests in the centers of several important districts of the country. One day later, on 10 September, national road routes will be blocked. 11, 12 and 13 September have been left as rest days. On 14 September, the opposition will organize another demonstration in Tirana. Its actions will culminate on 15 September with the protest in front of the Prime Minister’s Office. Under these conditions, the leader of the PD, Sali Berisha, yesterday gave Prime Minister Nano 6 days to meet the opposition’s three demands. "If by 2 September, 8:00 p.m., Prime Minister Nano has not resigned and has not dissolved the parliament that emerged from the stolen elections, the people will begin protests on 3 September." This is how Berisha spoke yesterday at the rally held in the place called "Square of Democracy" near the PD headquarters. He called on the democrats that, "if the government takes violent acts against the protesters, they should respond blow for blow." "If the government brings tanks out against the people, then the people will bring out its own tanks. Nano should not forget this," Berisha warned.

THE POLITICS OF ELIMINATION
TIRANA - Yesterday afternoon Berisha sent a message to Prime Minister Fatos Nano, in which he asks him to resign for the good of the country and the Albanian people. The leader of the opposition reminds the prime minister, whom he describes as the politician leading the country toward the abyss, that the final deadline is being given to avoid bloodshed and an armed conflict. In yesterday’s meeting with citizens of the capital, which lasted about two hours, Berisha repeated the strong accusations against the head of the executive for corruption, links to crime, and incitement of conflicts. He warned that if the opposition’s demands are not met, the country will enter a new phase of political clashes. According to him, the government is responsible for the grave economic situation and the lack of public order. Berisha stated that citizens can no longer wait and that "the time for patience has run out." He added that the announced protest will be a test of strength between the opposition and the government. At the end of his speech, he called on supporters to maintain organization and discipline.

Appeal for the protection of monuments: Stop the barbarism
The monuments of well-known national figures have become the target of acts of vandalism. Migjeni’s grave has been badly damaged, while the graves of Vaso Pasha and Luigj Gurakuqi have also been affected. This act has sparked strong reactions in public opinion and among institutions dealing with cultural heritage. The article calls for urgent intervention to protect the monuments and punish the perpetrators of these acts. According to the reactions, institutional negligence is encouraging the repetition of such barbarities. It is stressed that damaging national symbols is an attack on the country’s historical memory and cultural identity.

State institutions are asked to guarantee the safety of citizens and journalists in the performance of their duties.
