According to the senior Yugoslav diplomat, it seems there are certain political forces in Albania opposed to the process of dialogue begun in Crete between Belgrade and Tirana. How would you assess the current level of relations between Tirana and Belgrade? “The level of relations between the two countries does not meet the interests of either neighboring country. Both sides are making efforts to raise these relations to a higher level. Personally, we welcomed the agreement reached between Nano and Milošević in Crete.”

DURRES - The dogs of Durrës will be “executed” American-style, with an injection into their veins. After the failure of the first attempt to get rid of them using mass poisoning, plan B is now ready at the City Hall. During the first campaign, many of the dogs managed to rid themselves of the poison in the food and then flee wildly from the “combat” site, leaving behind only 60 victims. This time, City Hall assures us, the dogs’ days are numbered. The second campaign to eliminate the dogs will begin soon in Durrës, and everything is ready for it. From strychnine, which the dogs will hardly be immune to, to the new way of organizing the work, a series of difficulties had to be overcome. Speculation arose around the day City Hall received news that the dogs, which had been captured with great difficulty and taken away to be poisoned, had managed to escape despite being given strong doses of poison. The municipal authorities will not allow the odyssey of a short time ago to be repeated. Special teams have been set up to operate as units. Each unit will consist of a veterinarian, a driver, a dog catcher and, lastly, an “executioner.” City Hall has also prepared a detailed strategy to be implemented throughout this operation, which has been kept “Top Secret” for a long time and will be carried out in close coordination. The most delicate part of the plan is point A, concerning the capture of the dogs. Unlike on previous occasions, this time a noose will be used, since all the tricks tried so far have failed to produce the desired results. After that, the teams will load the captured dogs in a line into special vehicles, which will gather them and take them to the deserted outskirts of the goods depot in Shkozet. Once the first contingent of “condemned” strays has been gathered, they will be loaded into vehicles again and taken to the execution site, which has been approved as the garbage collection center. The injections will be administered there, and after 35 minutes—the time it takes for the poison to take effect—they will be buried in communal pits, necessarily more than one meter deep.
