Warehouses in Elbasan attacked The tragedy in Shkodra began on Sunday afternoon, when 15 armed and masked men attacked the police station. The first clashes between the police forces and the armed gang took place at the city hospital. Then came the intervention of the local branch's young men. The police degenerated into an exchange of fire with the bandits, who blocked the Dudas neighborhood crossroads, two schools and Kiras. The situation worsened when around 15 more people came to the aid of the armed men. During Sunday night, the city experienced scenes of war. The police station, two schools, a confectionery factory and 5 shops were attacked. The situation began to change in the early hours of yesterday morning, when forces sent from Tirana intervened in large numbers. Special forces later arrived in the city, but the situation remained tense. Looting of shops and a factory was reported in the outlying neighborhoods. Several wounded people were taken to hospital. In the morning, after a long night, the streets were almost empty and residents had shut themselves in their homes.

Parliament suspends the Constitutional Court
