The Ministry’s order to split the country in two
Braho: “It was drawn up at Berisha’s headquarters.” Çobani: “I carried out my duties.”
NGJELA COMMISSION INVESTIGATION / Compromising documents uncovered. Step by step through the preparations. Here is how the frightening scenario would have been carried out against the largest bridge in the south. The mystery of the TNT that never exploded. TIRANA - TNT attack on the bridges in the south. An order from the army General Staff has come to light in recent days. “Destroy the bridge over the railway at Qafa e Sokol[it].” This was the task that the chief of the army General Staff assigned to Çobani in a small mission, No. 7700. Through a radiogram that did not arrive from the ministry, Çobani was also instructed on the measures that had to be taken to blow up the bridge in question. But the reason for the failure to carry out such an order remains a mystery; if it had been completed, it would have cut off the south of the country from the rest of Albania. “This is part of the series of orders I was given by the army leadership.” This is how Commission member Braho commented yesterday on the plan to blow up the southern bridge. According to him, behind such orders stood the army high command, which [text unclear] Sali Berisha’s army, which would still represent [itself?] with his direct orders. Direct orders. Local Government Headquarters. TIRANA - A mountain of violations at the Local Government Secretariat. A team from the State Audit Office uncovered the most blatant violations in the central department’s tender documentation, as well as in the purchase of passenger cars. “I do not feel obliged to submit to such an inspection,” says Kosova. According to the former head of the Secretariat, he has not dealt with what is being said by the Audit Office, because it has deliberately exaggerated matters. On page 12
Albin Dardha will be buried in Athens
THE ASSAILANTS IDENTIFIED
TIRANA - Albin Dardha will be buried in Athens. The news received from Greece has been confirmed by the police and the hospital in Janina. The victim’s mother and family members have requested that the body be laid to rest in Athens. It is thought that the main reason prompting them to take this step is the possibility of an attack on the victim’s body if it is brought back to the homeland.

The assets of prosecutors and judges are being investigated
For corruption
Major reform ready
TIRANA - An investigation into the assets of investigators. The General Prosecutor’s Office has decided to carry out a cleansing through the process of declaring assets. The standard procedure, normally conducted at the beginning of every year, appears this time to be accompanied by claims from prosecutors. It is understood that the same will be done at the Tirana Court, where verification will no longer be treated as it was on previous occasions. “We aim in this way to rein in rampant corruption, which for at least five years has faced no obstacles whatsoever, either in the Prosecutor’s Office or in the Court,” says a senior official of the prosecution service. It is also not ruled out that in flagrant cases, when the checks are accompanied by other information, concrete investigations will be conducted on charges of bribery. “In any case, this will be done for those who committed this criminal offence after the amnesty, since others have been granted amnesty,” sources say.

Serbs disrupt the day of mourning
KOSOVO / EVENTS HOUR BY HOUR
TIRANA - Events in Kosovo, step by step. The terror unleashed by the Serbs against our fellow citizens over the past two days marked one of the most brutal reprisals in Kosovo since 1989, the year Serbia stripped Kosovo of its right to self-determination. Yesterday, it became known that during the terrorist expedition, Serbian forces had massacred and pacified around 10 members of the Ahmeti family.

WEAPONS POSSESSION
TIRANA - Prosecutors on the offensive against pending case files.
Around 150 cases, dominated by the criminal offenses of illegal possession of weapons, thefts, or minor fraud, were completed today, to be sent to the Court of First Instance. “We aim in this way to take a good part of the daily workload off our shoulders, while also easing the work of the administration of Ward 313 in Tirana,” says one of the deputy prosecutors at the district Prosecutor’s Office. The mountain of case files has also caused astonishment among the black-robed judges at the Court of First Instance, but its officials have committed themselves to ensuring that these cases move forward as quickly as possible, so that those accused [?] can be convicted.

Berisha’s roundtable drowned out by calls for war
The divided parties do not sign any resolution
drowned out by calls for war
TIRANA - Calls for war at a political roundtable on Kosovo. Berisha managed yesterday to bring together at a roundtable all the political forces that are not part of the governing coalition. A committee from the table, chaired by Democratic deputy leader Genc Pollo, will draft a declaration today to present to all Albanian political forces. Meanwhile, a proposal from the table to call on the President to mobilize the army and deploy it to the border appears to have fallen through. The right-wing parties showed yesterday that they are divided and unable to sign any joint declaration on the national issue. The only conclusion was the rally to be held on Friday in “Skënderbej” Square.

“Deloitte” takes Alimuça to court
“He has obstructed our work”
TIRANA - “Vefa” has been reported again. This time, the firm “Deloitte & Touche” has taken up the fight, which is expected to be judged by the courts.
And the firm of administrator Cameron Elis has completed the complaint filed by the foreign administrators against the president of the “Vefa” company, on the charge of “obstructing the performance of duties as provided for by law.” The complaint arrived yesterday at the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office, and it appears that within a few days Alimuça will sit before the case investigator to provide the relevant explanations. “Deloitte & Touche” is seeking criminal prosecution of the boss of the investment company because, according to them, they have been prevented from freely carrying out the work they undertook. “And this has not happened just on this one occasion. There have been several instances in which we have seen that the head of the company has not allowed the green light to be given for our actions,” the complaint states.

Parties without phones are left “out of touch with the world”
Telecom: They haven’t paid the bills
TIRANA - Political parties are left “out of touch with the world.” Telephones—the tool most cherished by politicians and party officials—were out of service all day yesterday for many Albanian parties.
Albanian Telecom did not hesitate to show its “teeth” in response to the political parties’ negligence in meeting their financial obligations. The interrupted phone signal was the topic of the day at all the party headquarters, each of which commented on the situation in its own way. Journalists were also in a bind, as the numbers they called were temporarily out of service.
At the top of the list of parties that had not paid their phone bills were the Socialist Party and, generally, all the government parties. After the PS came the socialists in the Democratic Alliance, the Union for Human Rights, the Agrarian Party, and the Democratic Party. The first to “rebel” against the disconnection of the phone signal were the socialist parties, which, taking advantage of being in power, rushed to demand an explanation for the “pleasure.” Telecom’s response, however, was given mostly in figures. “This is an amount that has been unpaid for some time, and under the contracts your number remains blocked until the amount is paid in full.” The blunt and bitter response sent those seeking answers away, and they were then forced to knock on the doors of the finance offices. The lack of phones brought daily contacts to a halt; indeed, yesterday seemed meaningless without the familiar ringing of the phone. Albanian Telecom meanwhile told ATSH that “for several days, all subscribers have been notified to meet their obligations to it.” Just a few weeks ago, Telecom disconnected around 500 telephone numbers belonging to the Albanian government, including those of the Prime Minister and several ministers. As of today, it seems everyone has learned what it means to be without a telephone...
